Whether it be fate or a prophecy, Marisa McClellan was destined to be a food writer.  On an otherwise ordinary day in her infancy, a family friend suggested a game to determine her future vocation.  Marisa’s mom plopped her down in the middle of circle with several different tools.  The tradition dictated that the first object the child grabs would indicate an affinity towards a future career.  Marisa grabbed a pen and a spoon and the world of food blogging would never be the same. 

Growing up, Marisa loved cooking.  Her first and most memorable experiment in the culinary arts began on a day when she was home sick from school.  She decided hash browns would be an easy dish to prepare.  It would have been a success had Marisa not neglected the first step of cooking the potatoes, which needed to be done to make them soft enough to sauté with oil and butter.  She was left with a gray, nasty mess.  Lucky for us, Marisa didn’t give up after that first disaster.
