Whether you're going on your first or 21st date, it is always a good idea to keep things fun and unique to avoid boredom in a relationship. One way to do this is by finding some fun dating destinations to venture to, which can help to keep your time together eventful. No matter what city you're in, you're bound find so cool places to visit. But if you're in St. Louis, you're in luck, because I've done some of the work for you!

Once upon a time, St. Louis was the 3rd largest city in the United States, and was granted the right to hold the World's Fair. Of course that was over a century ago, but St. Louis can be considered a diamond in the rough when it comes to things to do - even if you're going on a date with your significant other. To help you out, I've listed a few fun dating destinations for you and a significant other enjoy.

Dave & Busters

Dave & Buster's is the perfect place to spend Friday or Saturday night whether you want to eat a great meal, shoot pool, or be a kid again arcade-style. This fun establishment offers plenty to do, especially if you're a competitive couple. One of my favorites is the basketball shooting competition in the arcade - I always intend to win. And the good news is you don't have to be in St. Louis to enjoy Dave & Buster's. You can find it in nearly 50 cities, including Dallas, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Diego, and New York. Dave & Buster's has free admission but costs to do anything I've listed above, so bring money. And if you're not big on crowds and kids, you might want to consider a more quietly romantic destination for your date - especially if it's your first.

The Chain of Rocks Bridge

The Chain of Rocks Bridge is one of the more unique fun dating destinations. There is no admission. There are no crowds. It's just you, your date, and the Mississippi River. This bridge used to be an extension of Route 66 made for crossing into Illinois from edge of Missouri in St. Louis - but that was a long time ago. For the past 40 years, it's been more of a landmark; a place for people to feel the power of standing on a bridge over the river. As you pull onto the almost hidden gravel parking lot, you can see the entrance to the bridge - a tall black gate that is usually open. As you cross the gravel to the bridge, you start to get a glimpse of the river, followed by the sound of water rushing to an unknown destination. It's tranquil and lovely. Visitors have the option of walking across the bridge from St. Louis to Illinois (approximately 1 mile) and back again. It's fun, and most important, free. There is no popcorn or jugglers - just the opportunity to spend time with your date quietly and privately.

Becky Thatcher and Tom Sawyer Riverboats

Both of these 19th century-replicated steamboats provide the opportunity to take a romantic journey down the Mississippi River. They offer Entertainment Cruises that allow you and your date to dance to some live music while checking out the scenery. The Dinner Cruises also offer live music with the spicy element of a good meal to add to the St. Louis skyline. And the Skyline Cruises come with a great Sunday brunch and opportunities to stop off in other towns along the Mississippi. Taking a cruise is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your date better. I definitely recommend you add it to your list of fun dating destinations.

Of course there are more fun dating destinations available in St. Louis; this list is just tipping the iceberg. But hopefully this will give you a good starting point for your next date.
